1st week

Friday, June 27, 2008

Hmm, ok, so the first week ended with lots of stuff piling up. School is efficient.

We’ve already covered Integration up till trigonometry, a little bit on its implications, most of the time i don’t actually know what im writing so i’ll need some time to catch up. Yay. Organic Chemistry. hate drawing the hydrogens (that annoying H). Alkanes. Alkenes. Alcohol. Esters. AAAE.

Anyway, visited SYF’s preview in Singapore Indoor Stadium on thursday. Suprised at the extent which the place has changed. Lots of mass dances, parades involving uniform group from selected JCs and secondary schools in singapore, and cool light and sound effects. Then there were people suspended on strings and performing aerobatics. Ended with a grand finale with the campus superstar 07 winner Shawn Tok singing “forgot-the-song-name”.

And why arent our Taiwan friends coming over this year? haiz. Sometimes i’ll think of all the good times in an exchange programme. Im sure everyone misses theirs too.

Cheers for another fulfilling week ahead.

2nd day of school

Tuesday, June 24, 2008

I think math lessons are too fast paced. We’re already jumping into techniques of integration after 1 day of lessons. Maybe i just need more practice.

Double bio, physics, chinese, english today. The reproduction in humans is somewhat confusing to revise, nid to remember quite a lot of hormones and their names. And oh, the labeling-the-diagram-and-describe-their-functions is a killer, im bad at memorizing things.

Personally i couldnt agree more with what ms Yeo said about the 华文智多星 show. What’s its meanings if its dominated by PRC scholars and doesnt reflect the true standard of spoken chinese of locals? Somehow im proud of Hwa Chong in sending in wenhao as well. =D

English always seem so easy yet so hard. Like, this year we’re going to have a 105 minutes paper on writing 2 essays. hmm.

Oh, don’t forget to do ur Physics practicals, the one with F/N, tangents, and weights. Actually im just reminding myself. Better mug Biology as well to prepare for the coming test too.

We are going to have a treat tomorrow. IHE: Sustaining Life. movie screening of The Day After Tomorrow. Some random spoilers.

Yayz.

Walking on.

Monday, June 23, 2008

ok, today was the start of a new term. this morning was rather windy, and i came to school early instead of the usual on-the-dot timings.

Its really a good feeling to be back and active, to attend lessons and talk to friends. Been chionging homework the other day so its somewhat tiring today.

Start of the day – Biology. Mrs Koh spent about 20 minutes to welcome us back. then, lessons started proper. Quite a number of us haven’t finish the past year EOY papers yet. Including me, so i’ll include that in the homework list. Discussed a little about sexual reproduction in man. Glad there’s nothing else except filling up the 2 plant repro worksheets.

IHE. Geography: Sustaining Life. better remember this title for our tests. Ms Sunitar (is there a “r”, by the way? i’ll find out soon) warned us of her teaching methods. Lots of sarcasm in her lessons i would suppose. Looking forward to lessons on water, technology, agriculture, natural disasters, climates. No homework currently.

IHC. found out we were supposed to collect the assignment chucked somewhere under the teacher’s table. Anyway, most of the syllabus is from the O Levels Social Studies past-yr papers, so I will suggest u buy them for reference. Hmm. India-Pakistan ws for homework today.

Double math. Leetk returned us some trigo assignments, then started on Integration. Honestly i havent been reading up on the topic during the holidays so its suprising i caught on rather well in the lesson today. Anyway there’s much more to come.

go figure/

Chemistry practical. quite rushed. we have to squeeze QA and Titration together in about 30 minutes, but most of us managed it. and chualc’s usual prac teaching style helps as well (write everything on the whiteboard before the class comes then stand outside waiting for late comers). Really, it gives me the discipline i truly lack. She gave us, erm, “Topic (Homologous Series)” and “Organic Chemistry – Introduction (II)” before we left. I think its safe to dao it for the time being.

Oh and those holiday homework, when am i ever going to finish them? crap la

30th June 08, next Monday, Biology test.

4th August 08, i duono what date, IHC test.

strikethrough is cool

good luck everyone. =D

A new term …

Sunday, June 22, 2008

The last day of the June holidays here. How fast time travels.

Will the new term be another mad rush? I duno. I think its something that we decide for ourselves and judge for ourselves.
